LetterheadHow to begin
Write “To,” then “The Principal,” the school’s name and the city. Then “Subject: Application for …” and “Respected Sir” (or Madam).
How to end
Students end with “Yours obediently,” then their name, class and roll number. Parents end with “Yours sincerely” and their phone number.
Certificates from school
For a character certificate or a school leaving certificate, give your roll number and the year you passed or are leaving, say why you need it, and mention that your dues are paid.

How do I write an application to the principal?

How do I write an application for a character certificate?
Give the year and roll number of the exam you passed from the school, say where you need the certificate (a college admission, a job), and ask the principal to issue it. Choose "Character certificate" to fill this in.
How do I ask for a school leaving certificate?
Say why you are leaving (a family move, a transfer), that your dues are paid, and ask for the certificate so you can join a new school. Choose "School leaving certificate".
