Dehli Biryani: a layout built around their own photographs.
A biryani house in Mirpur Khas with 4.0 stars from 589 Google reviews, selling chicken, teh wali and chana biryani by the half plate, the full plate or the kilo. Their first site used the layout our other restaurants share, and it cropped the top and bottom off every dish. This one does not crop anything.

What the site does
- Every dish gets a row of its own, so their photographs are shown whole. The pictures they sent are 9:16 phone photos; the shared restaurant layout put them in square cards and cut the top and bottom off each one.
- Half plate, full plate and kilo are the buttons that add to the order, so choosing the kilo is one tap rather than a correction later.
- A kilo calculator: type how many people are eating and it writes the WhatsApp message with the weight already worked out.
- The bottle green of their signboard and the marigold of the rice, on parchment rather than the near-black the other restaurants use.
- Everything in Urdu and English, with an Urdu copy of every page at its own address.
Why it was rebuilt
- They told us the theme did not feel like theirs and that the photographs looked cut. Both were true, and the second was our fault: the files were never cropped, the layout cropped them on every render.
- So they got a layout of their own rather than another colour of the same one. Checking a client’s photographs before choosing a layout is now written into how we build.
