Classic UrduWhat a khatna card is for
The khatna (circumcision, the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim) is a boy’s family occasion. Many families mark it with a dua and a meal for relatives and friends, and send a card in the parents’ names.
What goes on it
Bismillah at the top, the parents as hosts, “the khatna of our son” with his name, the day, date and time, the place (home or hall) and a number for replies. There is one name on the card: the bride box is not printed for a khatna.
Urdu or English
Most khatna cards in Pakistan are in Urdu: type the names in Urdu and the card is set in Nastaliq, with the title تقریبِ ختنہ. For family abroad, make an English copy in the same design.

Questions
Whose name goes on a khatna card?
The boy’s name, with his parents (or grandparents) as the hosts who invite.
Is it only for babies?
No. Families hold it at different ages; the card is the same. Put the boy’s name in the name box and leave the rest as for any invitation.
Can I write “Sunnat-e-Khatna”?
Yes. Pick Khatna as the event, then change the title words if you want: everything on the card can be edited.
Is the shadi card maker really free?
Yes. Every design, every size and every file type is free, with no account and no sign-up. Download as many cards as you want.
Which file should I take to the print shop?
PDF. It is vector, so the letters stay sharp at any size, and it is the exact card size (5 × 7 in, 4 × 6 in or A5). A PNG at 300 or 600 DPI also prints well.
